I love this time of the year! Fall is just around the corner and you know what that means? Cooler weather, leaves start changing and pumpkin patches start appearing everywhere! Yay!
Then comes Halloween, my all time favorite holiday! I get to dress up in crazy costumes, decorate the house with creepy decor inside and out. So many new fun things going on, I can’t wait! Each Halloween I have a theme for my decorating madness and this time the theme is Vintage Halloween and all things Witchy!
For today’s post, I am so excited to be teaming up with Cutting Edge Stencils once again. This time, I tried out one of their New Halloween Collection Stencils! The 18 new stencils include pumpkins, skulls, rats, bats, and spooky cats.
The stencil patterns come in a craft size and an 18”x18” which is perfect for accent pillows and totes. They put together Paint-A-Pillow and Paint-A-Tote kits which include everything you’ll need to create the craft. Plus they provide great video tutorials to achieve a perfect stencil project every time, even if your a beginner!
Let me show you how I made this adorable table for this years haunted decor using the Cutting Edge Stencils “Witch Craft” Stencil. I used the small and the medium sized stencil to create the Flying Broom Witch Table Runner Plate Charger.
And…. I am giving away another stencil!
Up to a $50 value.

Flying Broom Witch Table Runner
- Cutting Edge Stencil “Witch Craft” Stencil in small & medium
- Jacquard Textile Color in #122 Black
- Small stencil brush
- Elmer’s Spray Glue Adhesive
- Burlap table runner
- Black ball trim
- Hot glue & gun
Smooth your table runner down flat and iron out any wrinkles. Burlap is a net like fabric, so place your runner on top of a piece of paper or cardboard to catch the paint if it bleeds through.
Place the small “Witch Craft” Stencil angled slightly upwards, at the end of the runner. Spray the stencil with adhesive and press it into the fabric so it will adheres tightly to the burlap. This will prevent slippage and any paint bleed through.
Dip you stencil brush into the black paint, tap it on the paint plate to knock off access paint. Lightly tap the fabric within the stencil with the tip of the brush. Fill in all the areas.
Immediately pull the stencil off of the fabric when you are finished to prevent the paint from bleeding under the stencil. For the next witch place the stencil to the right and slightly above the last stencil and repeat the previous stenciling steps.
Next add the Medium Witch Craft Stencil turned upside down and in the center of the runner. See the pattern in the above pic. Spray the stencil with adhesive press onto fabric and repeat the previous stenciling steps.
Repeat the pattern until you reach the other end of the runner. End your pattern with the small witch and make them fly right side up on the other end of the runner. Hot glue a strip of black ball trim to both ends of the runner and that’s it!
Flying Witch Plate Chargers
- Cutting Edge Stencil “Witch Craft” Stencil Medium
- Black fine point paint pen & heavy point paint pen
- Black Acrylic paint
- Spray lacquer
- 4 gold chargers
Spray the back of the medium “Witch Craft” Stencil with Elmer’s Spray adhesive. Place the stencil in the center of the charger and press down to seal the stencil.
Use a fine point paint pen to draw the outline of the witch. You can switch to a larger heavy point paint pen or acrylic paint to fill in the stencil.
I opted to use acrylic paint to fill in my witch. The paint gave better coverage because my charger had a slick coat finish on it. Spray with a lacquer to seal and hand wash only.
And that’s it! I absolutely love how these two projects came out!! The Witch theme is so trendy this Halloween Season and stenciling is a such a simple way to get that store bought look.
