  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup
  • red and yellow food coloring
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions
  1. Wash, dry and remove stems from apples.
  2. Wash, dry and remove stems from apples.
  3. Insert skewers into each apple.
  4. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and 6 drops of both colors of food colorings.
  5. Bring sugar mixture to a boil, stiring constantly to dissolve sugar.
  6. Cook until thermometer reaches 290-300 F.
  7. Remove from heat. Wait until bubbles slow and sauce thinkens.
  8. Dip apples and swirl mixture to coat all sides.
  9. Place coated apple on wax paper. Store in refrigerator.
