Chalkboard Cutting Board EAT lettersI love the look of the Chalkboard Cutting Boards for kitchen decor. I whipped one up for my Turkey Tablescape I made this past Thanksgiving. I meant to put up this tutorial then, but it got lost in the shuffle of the holidays. So anyhow here it is, the easiest craft ever. I found this old cutting board while out junk hunting last summer. Just add some Frogtape and some Chalkboard paint and you got a cute decor and/or prop piece for your posts and parties.

DIY Chalkboard Cutting Board

  • Frog tape, or other painters tape
  • Cutting board
  • Sponge roller applicator
  • Black chalkboard paint

Paint a cutting board chalk paint

Tape off  a rectangle on your cutting board with Frogtape. {I like Frogtape because it makes super crisp lines}.

Cutting Board ChalkboardPaint 3 coats of chalkboard paint with a sponge roller applicator, {using a sponge roller make the chalkboard paint dry more evenly and less streaky}. Let it dry and pull of the tape!

Wait 24 hours to write on it. Then season it by laying your chalk flat on it and cover it with chalk. Wipe off the chalk and it’s ready to use! I used a ruler to measure the EAT letters and free handed the rest. And that’s it, easy peasy!
