This is the first wall art up-do in a series I am doing about a Gallery Wall I am creating in my living room. That post will be up as soon as I finish restoring some of the frames and pics I chose for the wall. The first one is this Gold Foil Feather pic. This was so easy and could not have come out cuter!
I love Pottery Barns’s Gold Leaf Feather pic, but I took an easier route than painting it because I have so many pics to recreate. This was super simple. Here’s how I did it!
Gold Feather Wall Art PB Hack
Supplies:
- Silhouette CAMEO
- Silhouette Printable Gold Foil
- Off-white acrylic paint
- Paint sponge applicator
- Masking tape or painters tape
- A picture I already owned that came with a gold frame
**If you do not own a Silhouette Machine that’s ok, see the end of the post for other directions on how to make this pic.
This project was easy because the picture I had was already painted on cardboard and the frame was not removable. So I taped off the frame and painted over the pink and gold flower.
I added few extra coats in case that gold wanted to shine through. Let it dry and remove the tape. Next I purchased a graphic feather in the Silhouette Design Studio and altered the points of it to somewhat match the PB painting.
Cut out the feather on Silhouette Gold Printable Foil paper with your Silhouette machine. Add the feather to the painted pic! And that’s it! It looks so good on my wall! Pics of the Gallery Wall are coming soon you can see it in action!
**Hint** If you do not own a dye cutting machine. You can always find a pic of a feather paint it gold cut it out or cut one out of gold scrapbook paper and glue it onto the pic.
Great foil feather, Kim. I May have to try this on the Cricut. I do already have a similar one, which I created using the foil laminating technique, but it’s not as ‘clean’ as this. Lovely! Sue ~ @SuzyHomemakerUK
Love the gold feather. I need to use my Silhouette machine more to make these cute wall art designs.
This is adorable. I am also currently working on a gallery wall in my living room. Stopping by today from Think and make Thursday’s link party.

What a clever project! I love quick and easy crafts. I’ve considered painting over old pictures but worried that it wouldn’t look right. This looks great, I may try when I find a cheap painting. Thanks for the tips!
