I found this sweet heart pallet in the Target dollar isle section and I thought it would be a cute craft to make for Valentines Day.
At first I thought I would just add lettering using Silhouettes Gold Foil, but then I just kept adding more and more bling. This would be a super easy kid craft, by using some trim scraps and adhesive lettering from your local craft store.
Heart Pallet Valentine Craft
Supplies:
- Silhouette CAMEO
or adhesive letters
- Silhouette Printable Gold Foil
- Red polka dot cardstock
- Red dingle ball trim
- Chevron ribbon
- Bakers Twine Red & White
- white acrylic paint
- Spray adhesive
- Hot glue and gun
Instructions:
I added a white wash of paint to the pallet using white acrylic paint. I mixed the paint with water to thin it. With a sponge applicator, lightly paint the wood, make sure to let wood show through the paint. Let it dry.
I cut the letters out with my Silhouette Cameo machine, using the fonts, Prata and Brannboll Fet and they were around 1.5 inches for “True” and 1.75 to 2.5 inches for “love”. If you do not have a Silhouette Cameo you can use adhesive letters found at your local craft store. Add your letters to the pallet.
I used spray adhesive added to the back of the polka dot cardstock of the word “true” to adhere it to the pallet. The the foil word “love” already had adhesive on the letters. I replaced the jute twine hanger with bakers twine.
Add red dingle ball trim to the edge of the heart and ribbon to bottom with hot glue. And that’s it! To me this kind of looks like a winning ribbon! The words can be changed to something like #1 Mom, etc. for other projects. Again I think this would be a cute project for kids to make and give as a gift.
