I have one more 4th of July decoration for you today! I realized yesterday when I got back from vacation, how close it was to the 4th, so I figured I better hurry and get this one out before it’s too late! I bought this cute hat table centerpiece from Micheals about a month ago. And since I have two front doors, which can get pricey to decorate, I decided to split the hat into two sections. Way cheaper than buying double of everything. Here’s how I did it!
Sparkle Hat Explosion Patriotic Decoration
Supplies:
- 1 Celebrate It Top Hat (Micheals)
- Floral picks in various styles
- Heavy-duty scissors
- Sharp knife
- Hot glue & gun
- 1 block of floral foam and floral wire
Instructions:
First you need to separate the hat into two sections, the Celebrate It Hat from Micheals is made with two separate parts already, but is bound together by the tinsel. To separate it you need to cut the hat in two on the part where the two halves meet and through the tinsel. The tinsel will come off, so make sure to keep each side of the hat’s tinsel separate.
Hint: Take a good look at the hat first before you cut, in case you get the tinsel mixed up to get the pattern in case you need to recreate it.
Hot glue the tinsel back onto the half hat sections, stretching tightly. Cut your block of floral foam into two pieces using a kitchen knife. Shave one side of the foam block with the knife to cut square edges off of foam, to make a rounded side to face the inside of the hat.
Hot glue the foam into place and use floral wire to secure the foam block to the back of the hat. Add your picks and that’s it!These look soo sparkly outside on the Front doors! These came out too cute for around $12.
Have a great Holiday!
