Things you should know… About me!

I’m sprucing up the blog this week. I decided to add some silly and quirky facts to my About me page. I just want to get a little more personal with my readers, so I came up with some random facts about me so you can get to know me a little better….

Some things you should know about me

…if we are going to be Best Friends!

I wore glasses until I was 12 and was a tomboy. I now wear glasses again… ho hum..

I love to dance to Old Wave Music.

I put hot chocolate in my coffee.

My husband brews and talks about Crafts beer on a podcast.

I hate roaches!!!! I will not live with them, ever.

I think I can sing, well sort of, I sound good to me, lol!

I can make bubbles with spit and make them float off my tongue. My brother can too.

I like ketchup on pork.

I hate when the week is planned out for me.

I don’t like reading directions, I make my husband read them and then make him show me how to use whatever it is.

I won 3rd place in an International Hair Replacement Cutting Contest in 1993, I eventually got burned out on other people’s problems and quit being a Hairstylist.

I hate when other people make me late. I am always on time. Except for parties!

I do not like procrastinators and I live in a house with a few of them.

I have to go shop somewhere every weekend.

My favorite food is my homemade Macaroni & Cheese and Asian Slaw!

I learned to do DIY and handy man stuff myself, only because of the procrastinator I live with.

I do not like people who are fake or trying to be someone else. I love down to earth people. Be yourself people!

I will always be wild and crazy.

I am always thinking of hilarious things, I just can’t tell you what they are, because you might be offended.

I am on my 13th car.

I love to organize things.

I have a mild case of OCD. I absolutely hate being sick! I also freak out a little when someone sneezes near me and doesn’t cover their mouth.

I love people with a sense of humor and I am drawn to them. Ya got to have a personality!

I yell at people when I drive. Move dammit!

~ So let me know what I need to know about you to be your friend! Hopefully I haven’t scared some of you away! Lol!

  1. Lol, this is great idea! Inspired to tweak, lol, my about page now. I hate roaches, pretty much any insect that sneaks indoors, reading directions, and love organizing too:) Congrats again on 100 parties. You make it look easy!

  2. Kim, I think we were separated at birth! Except for the spit bubbles – I use my tongue for touching the end of my nose, hairdressing – I’m a nurse and deal with other people’s problems every day too so I know whatcha mean, and the roaches – I have an irrational fear of snakes. Otherwise, we’re totally twins! oh, except I’m only on my 10th car. I do have an inappropriate sense of humor as well and my son has it too. I’m not sure whether to be proud or scared! Wonder twin powers ACTIVATE!

    1. Too funny, you really should get 3 more cars…lol!

  3. Haha! I love this! You’ve inspired me to redo my “About Me” page! I love posts like this. I’ve never heard of anyone else putting hot chocolate in their coffee. Except for me! It makes it taste so heavenly. Eww! It freaks me out when people don’t cover their mouths when they sneeze. I mentally wyn kick them in the back of the head.

    1. Hi Leslie, glad I could inspire you! When people sneeze like that I hold my breath and run, lol! I do the same for coughing, sick people, I make a bee line to the other side of the store.

  4. Loved learning a bit extra about you!
We have many things in common (absence of lateness, DIY, zero tolerance for procrastinators – just to name a few) 🙂

  5. #1 First and foremost !!!! IAM TERRIFIED OF SPIDERS, WHETHER THEY ARE REAL OR FAKE !!!!! (small ones aren’t so bad… I can smash them because I can’t see their creepy legs….)
I yell at cars too… I sometimes do it and forget that my hubby is in the car and he just shakes his head….
HUMOR is the best thing in life … If you don’t have any,,, you’re really missing a really good part of your life.
I put coffee in chocolate cake batter, whether it’s box or from scratch… It pulls the deep chocolate flavor out. (I don’t even drink coffee, but I do love to smell it).
    I’m not wild… but I’m crazy !!
My OCD is clothes hangers… The empty ones have to be organized and the clothes have to be facing the “right” way…
I am very organized at work,,, but at home,,, I just can’t do it… and now I have a mess and a ton of things to get done because of it.
I DO hate when the week is planned for me too… but I don’t have to worry about it as often since the kids are grown & gone… We only plan for each other….
“I hate when other people make me late. I am always on time”… ME TOO!!
I do somewhat procrastinate… that really needs to change.
    I hate coconut!
I LOVE CHOCOLATE !!! the darker, the better ,, ,especially in cake !!!
I have been married to the love of my life for over 32 years !!
I can’t take it when ladies wear (bathe in) perfumes, lotions and colognes… It burns my nose and makes me nauseated… I once had a client make a complaint about me at my job because she thought I was being rude to her. Her scent was so strong that I had to hold my breath while assisting her and only gave her short answers because Icouldn’t breathe in the smell….(I have a small container of coffee grounds beside my desk. It helps eliminate the smell-cleanses you pallet-if you will).
The older I’ve gotten, the less I like to shop… but I could probably start back but I just don’t need much to shop for… BUT I did just shop for (& BUY) a new car! It’s my 1st new car in 12 years !!

    OK.. I’m done !!!

    1. Ha Becki, I can’t stand perfume. If I wear it, it ‘s very little. My daughter coats herself in it, gag! More is not better!!!

    1. Ha I’ve had 13 different cars in my life!!

  6. So funny! And.. so relatable! Things we have in common.. Well, the most obvious.. A first name. Slight craziness. Thinking of funny things that are usually inappropriate – sometimes I say them out loud anyway. And, I laugh inappropriately as well – when I’m uncomfortable, anxious or scared, I giggle uncontrollably. I also used to be a hair stylist – I have some ridiculous stories and a permanent scar between my pointer and middle finger on my left hand from snipping it repeatedly. Being from the Northwest, I’d never actually seen one until I moved East, but now that I’ve seen them, I’m most definitely not a fan of roaches – they make me squeal and jump in the air. Ditto on rodents. Making me squeal that is.. Rodents also make me scale furniture as though I’m Spiderman after jumping in to the air and squealing. Apparently it’s fairly entertaining to watch as my husband will point out imaginary mice every once in a while just to see what I’ll do. It’s always bad when there is no furniture to scale. I go through shopping withdrawal if I’m in for the weekend, which almost never happens because I can’t sit still. Even the grocery store will do in a pinch. I’m irritated by fake people, especially those who pretend to be less intelligent than they really are and I’ve been known to very discreetly, but very openly, mock them in social situations. I think I can sing – my son once told me I should be on American Idol (he was only 7) – and I do it every single day.. I’ve been singing my babies to sleep for a billion years. I have road rage. I also have TV rage. I have a tendency to yell at the idiotic characters on TV when watching high tension shows. It’s probably a good thing I don’t watch a lot of TV. Things we don’t have in common.. you totally lost me at promptness.. I’m always, and notoriously, late. I am very lucky that I have a very understanding and smart husband who pads our arrival times with my lateness. But seriously.. that bubble thing.. I’m just in awe and wonder. You should take that on the road! 🙂

    1. Ha so funny Kim, I yell at the tv too while watching high tension shows, lol! I also have a scar in between my fingers from cutting hair. And the bubble thing took months of practice, my kids think it’s awesome. Thanks for the reply I love hearing that I’m not the only slightly crazy one here. lol!
