boneless pork roast
1
clove
crushed garlic
Salt & Pepper to taste
1
large onion
sliced
¼
cup
water
1
tsp
sugar
{optional}
¾
bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
{ours is Rufus Teague Honey Sweet }
Instructions
Salt and pepper the roast then sear and brown in a pan on medium heat.
Arrange onion slices to cover bottom of Slow Cooker.
Place roast, fat side down on top of onions.
Top with garlic and ½ cup water.
Cover and cook for 8 hours on high or 6 hours on low.
Remove roast and place in bowl.
Remove onions and liquid from slow cooker.
Shred the roast by tearing apart the meat using 2 forks.
Put the shredded pork back into the slow cooker and pour ¾ bottle of BBQ sauce over the meat.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Stir and cook for 1 hour on low or warm.
Add more sauce if the meat becomes too dry.
Serve alone or on toasted buns topped with slaw!
Notes
A rub works nicely too for this roast.
