Halloween Chex Mix

Creepy cute monster trail mix covered in melted chocolate. A sweet and salty bark-like candy snack!

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Chex mix cereal
  • 1 cup Cheerio cereal
  • ½ cup pretzel sticks
  • ½ cup M&M's candy orange & yellow
  • ¼ cup candy corn candy
  • ¼ cup mini marshmallows
  • 2 Tbsp candy eyeballs
  • 6 oz white candy wafers

Instructions
 

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Spread out an even layer of Chex Mix, Cheerios cereal and pretzels sticks on the parchment paper
  • Place the candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and heat it in the microwave at 15 second intervals. Stir in between intervals until the candy coating becomes smooth.
  • Pour the chocolate over the cereal mixture.
  • Top with M&Ms, candy corn, marshmallows and candy eyes. 
  • Mix everything together with a spoon or spatula.
  • Place baking sheet into the refrigerator until the candy hardens, (about an hour).
  • Break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

You can also use regular chocolate chips or baking chips for this recipe. Use 1 (to 2) 12 oz. bags of chocolate chips in lace of the candy melts.
