Baby Blanket & Onesie Cupcakes!

My friend had a baby shower for her Sister-in-law last weekend and so, of course, I scoured the internet for a great shower gift. I came across many, many versions of these cute Baby Blanket & Onesie Cupcakes! For more of these types of posts see my Fashion & Jewelry page.

I found a bunch of ideas and finished onesie cupcakes out there but no tutorials on how to make them. I combined a couple of the features I found in all the different ways to make the cupcakes. I added my own twist to these beauties by adding a headband in the center. Oh boy, these were a hit! They came out soo incredibly adorable! Here’s how I made them.

Baby Blanket & Onesie Cupcakes!

Supplies:

Fold Baby Blanket for cupcake onesie

Fold the blanket in half, then fold with open ends toward the center in 2 1/12 in folds.

Fold Onesie for cupcake

Fold your onesie in half sleeves in.

Add headband to onesie

Place the headband long ways on the bottom snap end of the onesie and roll tightly, {like you are rolling dough for a croissant}. Pin with two straight pins to keep it tight and secure.

Roll onsie and blanket

Then begin to roll, really tight as you go, wrapping one end of the blanket around the onesie all the way to the other.

Place the roll inside the bowl, tucking the end of the blanket down inside the bowl. Place them in a cake box and that’s it~ instant cuteness!!!

Now if you want to get really crafty, you could make a wrapper for that bowl. Another idea is placing the rolled blankets in large cupcake liners, coffee filters or just tied with a bow instead of the bowl version. There are endless versions out there to try.
