It’s almost Spring and I’m refreshing the home decor again! I wanted to make a floating glass pic for a small niche in my dining room. Since it is Make It Fun Crafts Challenge time, this month I made a Aztec Pattern black, white and copper floating framed wall art for my foyer!
The Tribal pattern is made from Make It Fun® Foam Project Bricks found at your local Michaels Craft Stores! They are very cool small 1 1/2 inch bricks that you can use to build and/or create kid’s crafts, school projects, models or just about anything.
When the Floracraft® team sent these to me I thought they would be perfect for digital or tribal art and boy was I right! They are just the right size to make all kinds of patterns, so fun!
I also provided a cute FREE Printable of my Aztec pattern for you to frame and/or use as a guide to place your bricks! Just click the PDF link below, download, save to your computer and print.

Let’s get started~!
DIY Aztec Pattern Wall Art
Supplies:
- Make It Fun® Foam Project Bricks, in White
- 11 x 14 Floating Glass Frame
- Acrylic Paint: Black, Copper
- 1 8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock, white
- X-acto knife
- Scrapbook glue tabs
- Hot glue & gun
Instructions:
Lay out your bricks in the tribal pattern you choose.
Using hot glue adhere each brick together in the pattern.
This will make four separate solid pieces of the pattern. Paint the center and outside pattern pieces black and the center piece with the copper paint.
Clean the glass of your frame. Center the white cardstock inside your frame and adhere in place with scrapbook glue tabs.
Place the glass back into the frame and lock in place. Turn the framed white cardstock over. Place your pattern pieces in order and glue each section down to the glass. And that’s it! Super easy, trendy fun wall art!
