It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas! I have had such a busy month already, but I wanted to share a little bit of my Holiday Decor today.
This year I am a part of the Holiday Homes Tour Blog Hop with my Merry Monday Hosts and a bunch of my favorite bloggers. See bottom of the post for all the links to everyone’s Home Tours!
I say I am sharing a few of my decorations because we just got back from our holiday vacation in New York City! This was my second time going to New York during this time of year and it was awesome! The city is so fun, all the stores are decorated, the trees are all lit up and the streets are bustling. Want to see what it’s like to go to NYC for the holidays? Check out my last year’s New York Holiday Trip post for all the fun places we visited.
But before we get to the tour…..we had a couple of funny fiascos with our Christmas tree this year. We went out to dinner and came home to our 9ft pre-lit tree with the bottom branches all chewed up! Our new puppy chewed through the electric lights and blew out the whole tree. So, for the first time in years, we ended up purchasing a real tree. I had forgotten how great they make the house smell and how pretty they are to decorate. Of course, the downside is they shed like crazy.
Fiasco #2 was when I was cleaning up the needles after decorating the second tree for the second time, my vacuum cleaner blew up! I guess it wouldn’t be the holidays without a little bit of crazy, right?
This post doesn’t show a lot of my decorations this time. Since we were going to be out of town during the month of December, I decided not to go all out with our holiday decorations. I still thought it would great to at least share a few of my focal points of the decor I did put up. If you look closely I am sure you will see a few of my projects in the pics too!

WONDERFUL!!! Loving your festive decor and the windmill is so cute. I had a similar one growing up and unfortunately it broke. Great mantel decor and the art is fabulous in your entryway. Pinning!
Beautiful home, love the tree and just love the free greenery and simple reindeer on the mantle. Gorgeous! Have a Merry Christmas!
Love all our decor especially your entry area with the deer and hoop stars. The joy sign is so festive. You have a beautiful home that is so inviting. Cathy
Beautiful holiday home, Kim! I love a festive, happy, holiday house and I think yours is just perfect!
So fun joining everyone for this hope!
Happy Christmas!
Karen
Thanks Karen, I haven’t made my rounds yet been super busy with life today, lol
Kim
Your house looks great!! I love those JOY letters and the sled! Merry Christmas! And those wreaths in the windows!
Thanks Meg! The Joy letters actually part of a bigger word, the spell a bunch of things I couldn’t get good pic because they are in a huge window with tons of glare! So I improvised.
Kim
Your home and Christmas decor are beautiful! Sorry about the first tree…we think the holidays aren’t complete without at least one fiasco :) So Happy to share the tour with you…Merry Christmas!
Thank you ladies for the sweet words and stopping by! I wish I had put up more of my usual decorations. I meant to change up the stockings to match the plaid in the tree. Maybe next year!
Kim
Wow, your home is amazing. I love those colorful stockings and all the lovely decor on your tree.
Beautiful! And I absolutely love that deer head!
Thank you Jill!
Beautiful. You need to show off your home more :-)
Thanks Erlene! Unfortunately my couch and love seat are dark brown, my entertainment center is black and the ways are dark grey. So If I’m not near a window then you can’t see anything, lol. I wish I had finished decorating the house, maybe next year!
:) Kim
I have one giant window in the family room and these darn sky lights that give off weird shadows for most of the day. It was sooo hard to take photos, so I hear ya on the dark room thing.
