Small Space Makeover with a Mid-Century Modern Industrial Vibe

It’s time for a New Year refresh! Do you have that one corner of a room that is just missing something? I did.
Earlier this year I took my formal living room and changed it into a functional room. Our formal living room was a room that no one ever really sat in unless it was a holiday. I wanted to actually use that room for more than just a museum.
 I made the room over into a place where we could relax and hang out that has a chic bohemian style feel to it. We actually use the room now. We love to lounge around, listen to Lp’s and genuinely enjoy sitting in a fun funky room.
Let’s back up. I said I made it over, but I did have that one area that was lacking and did not match the style of the room. I would actually skip that spot when taking pictures for my blog posts.
Well, no more! I was super excited when the team over at Kohl’s asked me if I would like to review one of their accent chairs for their Home Sale going right now! A new chair was just what I needed to complete my new fun space.
With so many chairs to choose from, I finally settled on the HomeVance Kingston Tufted Barrel Wingback Chair in Dark Grey Linen. Ok, so you are probably thinking that it looks pretty formal. Why would I choose that chair for a funky room?
A lot of the items I choose to have in my home have a bit of nostalgia connected to them. When I was little, my mom had an amazing flair for the unique 1970’s style going on in our house. When I saw this chair it reminded me of one we had in our living room that I loved so much as a child.
For me, it was love at first site. It is so pretty with its sweet tufted back. It adds that perfect modern vintage feel to my funky room.
I also grabbed this fun washed stained wheeled end table to go next to my fabulous chair.
How cute are those shabby industrial wheels! This is surely going to be a great conversation piece. Another great find from Kohls for my room!
