If you have a book lover in your life, a Halloween book box might just be the cutest way to surprise them this spooky season.

Boo Bookish Boxes combine two of my favorite things, Halloween treats and getting lost in a really good book. Fill one with a spooky read, cozy goodies, and a few Halloween surprises, and you’ve got a gift that practically begs for a night on the couch.

A boo box can be as simple or over-the-top as you want to make it. Start with a favorite thriller, mystery, romance, or witchy read, then tuck in things like fuzzy socks, bookmarks, candy, candles, coffee, or tea. You can even match all the goodies to the theme of the book for an extra-fun surprise.

To make your bookish gift box look extra special, I’ve put together ideas and printable labels you can use to dress everything up. Add the labels to wrapped books, treat bags, little gifts, or the outside of your box to give it that finished Halloween look. It’s an easy way to turn a handful of cozy goodies into a gift that feels thoughtfully put together.

There is a list of bookish box ideas that are perfect for friends, teens, teachers, coworkers, book club buddies, or anyone who would happily cancel their plans for a good book and a pile of snacks.

Make one as a Halloween surprise or put together several for your favorite reading crew. Just be warned, they are so cute, you may end up making an extra one for yourself, and I fully support that decision.
