I have been so excited to share this post! I am teaming up with my friends at Wayfair.com to introduce you to the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation Village set by Department 56.  

But first, let’s talk about my family’s Christmas Eve tradition. When our kids were little we would stay up and watch Christmas movies until they finally dropped from being so wound up.

As many of you parents know sometimes waiting for the kiddos to drift off can seem like forever. Then you have to walk on eggshells to sneak the presents under the tree.

Now that my kids are much older the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation movie has become our family’s favorite Christmas eve pastime. We watch it again and again, sipping eggnog out of our Moose Mugs until we all give out.

Our Crazy National Lampoons Christmas Vacation Village Set

Who doesn’t love Cousin Eddie in his mock turtleneck breaking the German Christmas Pyramid while announcing that he will be staying for the month? Or how about the squirrel breaking out of the tree and freaking everyone out.

We pretty much know the movie by heart. My daughter loves repeating “Hello Everybody” like Aunt Bethany. Which has become a family saying around here when we walk in the door.

Let’s talk about this super fun Christmas Vacation Village Dept 56! To start my set I chose the porcelain Christmas Vacation Griswold Village House and the porcelain Cousin Eddie’s RV House.

I added two more pieces, the “Cousin Eddie in the Morning” figurine and the Griswolds Family Christmas Station Wagon with the tree on top. 

The lit Griswold Christmas Vacation Village House is 9.75” H x 12.75” W x 8.9” D. Which is pretty large for a village style house. It has lights on the outside of the house and the inside of the house.

There is a button for the settings on the back so you can set the house to stay lit on the inside only or so the lights can blink or stay steady. It comes with an adapter to plug, so you can it into the wall. No batteries! Yay!

Next up, and my personal fav is Eddie’s RV Village House. It is  6.8” H x 10” W x 5” D and lights up on the inside as well. Plus it has fun Christmas lights on the top edge of the RV.

It can also be lit by an adapter plug, (not included) so you could plug it in. Otherwise, it takes 3 AAA batteries. We have it on all the time so I may need that adapter plug.

The RV pairs up with the ‘Cousin Eddie in the Morning” Figurine. Above is Eddie in all his glory filling the sewer with RV sewage chemicals and causing problems. Too Cute!

Last but not least is the Griswolds Family Christmas Station Wagon with the tree they uprooted for the perfect Griswald Family Christmas!

I am so thrilled to have this set for our holiday decor! It is the perfect addition for us to celebrate with our family tradition! I can’t wait to get more Christmas Vacation Village pieces to complete the set!
