Did you see my last couple of DIY’s? If so, you would of seen these two super fabric stars hanging out in my Yarn Deer and Holiday Tree Hoops posts. I bought these two stars thinking I would make ornaments out of them, but wow did they become so much more!

I fell in love with this really fun plaid ribbon and I am incorporating it into this years Holiday decor. I wanted to balance out the Holiday Tree Hoops with a couple more hoops. Placing the fabric stars inside the hoops made them even more adorable. Let me show you how I covered them and placed them in the hoops.

Easy Plaid Ribbon Covered Stars

Instructions:

Make a guide to apply ribbon

Start by measuring and cutting out a cardboard guide to match an angle on each star.

Cover paper mache star with fabric

Cut 10 pieces of ribbon to match the guides.

With a sponge applicator apply the adhesive glue to one of the angles. Place the ribbon on the angle and press down. To speed up the drying process I added a little hot glue to the edges of the fabric to hold it in place while I added another section.

Trim the ribbon as needed. Line up the plaid lines to make a patterned star. Hot glue a thin piece of ribbon to the backside of the star. You can add ribbon to cover the back of the star if you wish.

Hang the start from the hoop by unscrewing the hoop lock and adding the ribbon. Tighten the hoop with the ribbon in between the wood circles. Hang it up and that’s it! Super cuteness! I love how rustic the fabric stars look and the whole vignette just pops using these cute stars as an accent.
