How to Play the Stuffed Stocking Gift Exchange Game

The stocking swap will operate as follows:

Each guest brings one wrapped, anonymous gift, usually set to a budget like $20 to $30
Each person draws a number.
The person with number #1 goes first and selects a stocking, revealing the goodies inside.
The person with number #2 can either unwrap a new gift from the pile or steal an already-opened gift from someone else.
The Steal Rule: If your gift is stolen, you immediately get to pick a new wrapped gift or steal from a different player.
Set Steal Limits: A single gift can usually only be stolen a set number of times (commonly 2 to 3 times) before it becomes “frozen” and safe with its final owner.
The game continues this way, with each guest being able to keep a previously opened stocking or unwrap a new surprise.
The Final Turn: After the last person takes their turn, Player #1 gets a special final chance to swap their current gift for any eligible opened gift in the room.
