Red Cardinals are such a sweet reminder of love, family, and hope. They have a special meaning to our family with the passing of my father.

They are so beautiful and pop against the white snow and I thought it would be great to create that feeling on a wreath. The wreath would make a  beautiful welcoming wreath or sweet reminder to your door this winter.

If you read my previous posts in this series you will learn about how I have two front doors to decorate every year. This can get quite pricey.

I came up with an easy way to decorate my doors through the seasons using one set of large wispy wreaths. With a little spray paint, glitter and foliage change you can have a different look from fall thru the holidays and on into winter.

For this transformation, I painted it the winter wispy wreaths and foliage white and added glitter and faux snow. Then placed a sweet faux nest and bright red cardinals to add that fun color pop.

How to Make a Winter Wispy Wreath

Supplies:

QUICK DIY SUPPLIES:

 Instructions:

This wreath was my Spooky Wispy Wreath. I removed all the Halloween leaves, pumpkin and birds.

I spray painted the orange berries from the Autumn wreath and the wreath itself with the white primer.

Spray two coats of white spray paint. Right after the last blast of white paint, when it still wet, spray a coat of spray snow and glitter, that way the snow will stick better.

I had a lot of fun with the spray snow. I wanted to spray everything with it! So fun!!

Add the stems. Place the berries and pine cone stems around the circle and then add the nest.

Spray them and wreath again with the white spray paint, snow, and glitter. I wanted a little bit of the red on the pine cones to show up through the paint.
