a week or so ago I made a gorgeous boho style gold bell garland for my sparse Christmas tree I bought last year. I wanted to add some global funky style, so I decided to make a gold bell ornament too!
These simple rag and bell ornaments can go on the tree, gifts or wine bottles. You could probably hang them on your door and use them for doorbells too!
They are super simple to make. Make sure you have a great paint pen to draw on metal. Grab some ribbon, bells, and cording and let’s get crafting! Let me show you how I made them!
Painted Vintage Gold Bell Ornament
Supplies:
- 12 Vintage Rustic Bells: 2 inch
- Mini Vintage Brass Bells: 1 inch
- Paint Pens
- Satin Cording: Gold Bronze
- Glitter Ribbon: Champagne
Instructions:
Use a white paint pen to draw snowflakes and other tribal designs on all of the bells.
Cut a 24 inch piece of cording and loop it through the top of a bell.
Tie the cording in a knot about 3 inches above the bell.
Cut two 7 inch x 1/2 inch pieces of ribbon.
Double tie each piece of the ribbon under the knot.
I used the wire edge of my ribbon to hang the second small bell to the cording. Loop it through the bell and twist tie the ends and pull the cording through it.
If your ribbon does not have a wire edge, you can use plant wire to hang the small bell. Tie a knot in the top of the cording to make a hanger and hang it on your tree!
This sweet ornament came out so great! I think I will put it on a wine bottle for a fun gift to a friend!
I like this idea. Are you going to share your tree with us this year? :-)
Thank you Erlene, I am not sure if I am going to share my tree. Still thinking about it. It is pretty much the same as last year since the stores weren’t so full this year. It was tough to do something different.
