I’m finally getting a little itchy for the Halloween season! Time to pull out the creepy decor! I made this potion garland banner yesterday for a Spooky Cocktail Table Scene for a Halloween Party!
Just get some of those creepy potion bottle labels, craft paper, and some beads and whip one up. Here’s how to make it!
Deadly Halloween Poison Potion Garland Banner
Supplies:
- Potion Bottle Labels
- Craft Cardstock Paper: Wicked Merchant Malvado “My Mind’s Eye” cardstock paper pad (Michaels)
- 2 Sheets of Black and White Houndstooth Cardstock
- Fabric Covered Plaid Beads (Micheals)
- Black Embroidery String
- Silhouette Cameo
- Scissors or Paper Cutter
- Hot Glue & Gun
- Large Embroidery Needle
Instructions:
I made my own patterns to cut the banner on my Silhouette. If you do not have a Silhouette you can cut out a banner pattern with scissors or a paper cutter and your cardstock. Mine were two large panels, two medium panels, and three small panels.
Cut one inch wide strips of the Hounds-tooth paper fold them back and forth in a fan-like pattern.
Hot glue the two strips together at the ends for the large panels. Lay them flat and hot glue them to the banner panel. Stretch them out to fit the size of your potion label while you glue.
I used two strips for the large banner panels and one strip for the 3 small panels. Glue the ends together and repeat the steps above.
Glue your labels on top of the fans. Add your beads to the embroidery string using a needle. Hot glue them into place by putting a dot of glue on the string and place the bead over it. Turn your banners over and hot glue them to the string.
Take the rest of your beads and add a string, tying a knot at one end and gluing the other end of the string to the tip of each banner panel. And that’s it!
I hoped you liked this unique Halloween Party Cocktail Table Poison Banner! I’d love to see your version if you try these out!
Love it? Pin it!
That’s such a cute banner for Halloween! I used a creepier black patterned paper to make a similar banner, and used creepy pictures I found in magazines, but it looked very similar to yours. Thank you so much for sharing!

This is so amazing! Whenever I see something like this banner made out of paper I’m totally impressed. I just see paper as something to cover other things but this is akin to art. Very pretty!

I love this kind of upscaled look for Halloween. It has an added sophistication that makes it blend into more formal rooms as well as casual spaces. Thanks for sharing your fun project on BeColorful’s Motivated Monday this week.
