Asian Cabbage Salad With Ginger Dressing

Ya’ll this is one of my all time favorite lunches! It can also be a great side dish for BBQs too!

I have made this salad from scratch before, but it requires a lot of ingredients. With some help from a pre-packaged salad mix, I figured out a way to skip all the dicing and chopping.

You can find these pre-made salads in the produce department in the mixed lettuce section. I like the Walmart Marketplace brand Asian slaw. To me it has the best ginger dressing, plus precut cilantro and green onions are already included in the mix.

Take the ingredients in the slaw mix package and add chicken, edamame, and honey to make it more like homemade. I have this slaw for lunch all the time. Here’s your warning! it can get really addicting!

Asian Salad With Ginger Dressing

Asian Cabbage Salad With Ginger Dressing

  • 1 bag Asian Chopped Salad (make sure it’s cabbage and includes Ginger Dressing and a nut & Asian noodles packet).
  • ½ tsp honey
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro chopped, optional (not needed if it is already included in the mix)
  • ½ pkg frozen shelled edamame
  • 1 cup grilled chicken strips

How to make it!

  1. Empty the slaw from the kit into a large bowl.
  2. Mix in the ginger dressing packet.
  3. Drizzle honey over the dressing and slaw.
  4. Add your nut and crunchy noodle packet, if included. (I sometimes I skip the noodles to keep the calories down).
  5. Add a hand full of chopped fresh cilantro. Optional (unless it is already included in the mix).
  6. Sprinkle in half the edamame and toss.
  7. Let the salad marinate for 20-30 minutes in refrigerator and serve chilled!
