Super Easy Asian Slaw with Ginger Dressing

When I am in weight loss mode one of my favorite recipes to help conquer the bulge is this Super Easy Asian Slaw with Ginger Dressing. See more light recipes on my Salad page. Semi Homemade Asian Slaw with Chicken Edamame I have made this salad from scratch, but it requires a lot of ingredients. I figured out a way to skip all the chopping and dicing by buying a ready-made Asian slaw mix. You can find them in the produce department in the mixed lettuce section. I like the Walmart brand Asian slaw it has the best ginger dressing and cilantro is already included.   Take the ingredients in the slaw mix package and add chicken, edamame, and honey to make it more like homemade. I have this slaw for lunch all the time. Beware it can get really addicting! How to make Asian Slaw

Easy Asian Slaw with Ginger Dressing

Asian Slaw with edamame and ginger dressing

Total Time 15 minutes


  • 1 bag Asian Chopped Salad {make sure it's cabbage and includes Ginger Dressing and a nut & Asian noodles packet}
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped, unless it is already in the mix
  • 1/2 package frozen shelled Edamame, then cooked by manufacturers directions.
  • Grilled Chicken Strips, {my favorite is Kirklands Brand from Costco}


  1. Empty the slaw from the kit into a large bowl.
  2. Add the Ginger Dressing packet.
  3. Drizzle honey over the dressing and slaw.
  4. Add your nut and crunchy noodle packet. I sometimes I skip the noodles to keep the calories down.
  5. Add a hand full of chopped fresh cilantro.
  6. Sprinkle on half the Edamame and toss.
  7. Let the salad marinate for 20-30 minutes in refrigerator.


Serve with grilled chicken. You could also serve this in a wrap or it would be awesome with chicken or fish tacos. Enjoy!
