Magnolia wreaths are beautiful year-round, but with a little creativity, you can give yours a frosty makeover perfect for the winter season. Adding a touch of snow, shimmer, and winter accents turns an everyday wreath into a magical centerpiece for your holiday decor.

Magnolia leaves are always a popular choice in the floral sections of your favorite craft stores. In this tutorial, I will show how to take two wreaths apart to create an amazing gorgeous winter magnolia wreath.

If you already have an amazing magnolia wreath, you do not have to take it apart. Just add some winter stems to the base between the leaves.

The glittery frosted sprigs I used made all the difference in the look of the ordinary magnolia wreath. It now looks like a magnolia wreath in the morning frost! Follow my instructions below for how I put it all together.

Supplies:

  • Magnolia Leaf (faux) and Pinecone Wreath
  • 4 Glitter Frosted Pine Needle & Pinecone Sprig Bunches
  • Grapevine Wreath 15-inch
  • Floral Wire
  • Hot Glue & Gun
  • Pliers

Instructions:

frosted evergreen sprigs
  • Remove the magnolia leaf stems and pinecones from the magnolia wreath.
  • Cut all the pine stems apart from the bunch using pliers.

PRO TIP: When I make a wreath I usually add everything to the wreath without adding wire or glue to hold it together. I move the stems around to get the best placement before everything gets stuck in one spot.

add frosted sprigs to grapevine wreath
  • Add the frosted pine sprigs to the grapevine wreath first. Once you have them situated, start adding the magnolia leaves above and below the pine sprigs.

TIP: Hang your wreath to get a better perspective of how everything will look when it is finished and displayed.

  • When everything looks good, use floral wire wrapped around the grapevine wreath to secure the stems.
  • You can use hot glue to stabilize the leaves and sprigs further if they are still loose after they are wrapped with wire.

And that’s it! You are ready to hang up your new creation!

TIP: In my experience, I have found if you only use hot glue to secure everything to a wreath, it can start to melt when you hang it outside in the heat or sun. You do not want the stems to start falling off of the wreath. If you are going to display your wreath outside on your front door make sure you secure it with floral wire first before gluing them in place. This will create a wreath that lasts throughout the years.
