One of the best parts about Halloween is obviously the treats! There are so many simple yet delicious treats that can be made at home with just a few ingredients.
I like to skip the baking and use store-bought treats! With a little imagination, you can turn them into something unique! Plus, it’s an easy way to whip up something quick.
These witch broom cookies would look amazing on a Halloween party tray or they can be an easy treat to “make and take” to a party. It’s kid-friendly too! So if you have young children who like to help out in the kitchen these recipes are perfect for them!
Here’s how to make your own semi homemade treats…
Feel free to change up the sprinkles or chocolate chip flavors as well as the cheese and pretzel flavors.
Witch Broom Cookies and Witch Hat Treats
INGREDIENTS
Witch Hats
- 15 Fudge Stripe Cookies
- 15 Hershey Kisses Chocolates
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ tsp coconut oil
- orange sprinkles
Pretzel Broomsticks
- 15 pretzel sticks
- 5 string cheese sticks
INSTRUCTIONS:
Witch Hats
- In a small bowl add the chocolate chips and coconut oil.
- Microwave the mixture for 30 seconds and repeat every 15 seconds until they are fully melted and smooth.
- Dip a Hershey kiss in melted chocolate and place it in the middle of the chocolate side of a fudge striped cookie.
- Add orange sprinkles to the melted chocolate to cover the edges.
Pretzel Broomsticks
- Cut each of the string cheese portions into 3 equal sections.
- Cut one end of the string cheese in sections to create the look of the brush end of a broom.
- Push a pretzel stick into the smooth end of the string cheese to create a handle.
NOTES
If you would like to add a tie at the top of the witche’s broomsticks, you can use fresh chives or strips of green onions. Then just tie them at the top of the cheese for garnish.
MAKE AHEAD: Place the cookies in an airtight container and keep them on the counter for up to 3 weeks. The Broomsticks with cheese should be consumed that day. The pretzel may soften in the refrigerator.
FREEZER: Not recommended. The cookies will keep a long time on the counter. They may do ok being frozen. The Broomsticks with cheese should be consumed right away.
