To add a pop of color to your poms, or get the mixed rainbow look, just start wrapping another color to your pom maker.
Just stop wrapping the color you are using and start with a new color of yarn. Cut the yarn, start with the new color and continue wrapping. Cut, tie, and trim your pom. Super easy!
After you fluff and trim the pom, add the large gold jump ring to the center tie of the pom. Next, add the gold chain and close the jump ring.
Size the chain to the length you want. Cut the chain with the wire cutter part of your pliers. Bend open the end of the chain, add your clasp and bend it closed with the pliers.
This pom is 3 3/8in. And that’s it for the simple pom pom keychain.
Multicolor Pink pom is 2 1/2 inches, Pink pom is 1 3/8in and Yellow pom is 1 5/8in.
To make the Pom Pom cluster keychain, just make several poms in different colors and sizes. Then hang them on three lengths of chains from the larger pom.
Blue pom is 2 1/2in, Green pom is 1 3/8in and Tan pom is 1 5/8in.
I hope you enjoyed this pom pom keychain post! They are so fun to add to handbags, beach totes, and more! Just whip up a bunch of poms, put them on chains and key rings and you are all set!
Hi does it matter what size the Gold lobster claw clasp is ????
Hi Eva,
No, you can use whatever claw size you would like.

Hi. I would like to buy a Pom Pom maker set. Would you know where I can buy these sets? My granddaughter would like me to make her a Pom Pom rug. All the hand made methods really take far too long.
Thank you Kindly in Advance.
Hi Louisa,
I have links in my supply list to the items I use to buy on Amazon. They are affiliate links. You can also get them at Michaels Craft Store if that’s easier for you.

There is nothing like a pom pom is there, so easy to make and so cute and fun. The bright colours you used for the 1st one are just my cup of tea!
Thanks Julie! Glad you liked them and stopped by!
Oh my goodness, you just gave me heart pangs… When I was younger (blame it on having a sister who was an 80’s child) I used to make pom poms all the time. I’d stick googly eyes on them and give them little feet… My room was covered in them! Seeing this craft, and how easy it is to do, brought back so many memories. I can’t wait to get to making them again! Thank you for sharing! – Jerusha
