These are the final ornaments in a series of five ornaments I created for my boho Christmas tree this year. Hooray, they are finally all done!
I changed my home decor over to a more modern boho feel in the past year and I wanted to carry that theme into my holiday decorating. I couldn’t find many bohemian ornaments to purchase for my tree idea, so I decided to make my own ornaments for a more custom look.
In my previous posts, I made some fun Leather Feather Arrows, Frosted Glitter Bullseyes, Painted Glitter Wood Feathers and Boho Suede Fabric Ball Ornaments for my tree.
For this project, I used two different antler floral picks to make into ornaments. They are super simple to make. Just add a little acrylic paint, glitter and some suede cording and they become one of a kind sparkling bohemian ornaments. Here’s how I made them over.
Antler Tree Ornaments
Supplies:
- Antler Floral Pics (Lowes & Walmart)
- Acrylic Paint: White
- Elmer’s Glue-All
- Glitter: Gold, Copper
- Suede Lace Cording: Medium Brown
- Hot Glue & Gun
Instructions:
Remove the wire stems from the antlers. Depending on the antler style, paint either the entire antler or the end of it with white paint.
This gold one I just painted one end since it was already a bright gold. The ones I painted white I added Elmer’s glue to the end and dipped them in glitter.
Take a 12-inch piece of suede cording and tie a long loop into a knot leaving a 1.5-inch tail end.
Glue the tail end all the way around the end of the antler. Let it dry and hang on your tree!
These couldn’t be more simple to make. They add the earthy bohemian feel to my tree. My tree reveal will be up on the blog next week. Here’s a sneak peek of all the ornaments I made to go on it, all together.
