The key to these jello shots lies in their eerie appearance. As you bite into the gelatin, you might find yourself face-to-face with a ghoulish eyeball staring back at you. Don’t be fooled by its sinister gaze though; underneath that ghostly exterior lies a burst of grape and vanilla flavor.
The secret to making these spine-chilling shots lies in their eerie appearance. The deep purple base of jiggling jello with an eerie candy eyeballs inside and out. The effect will bring up creep factor to any Halloween party table!
Get creative by experimenting with different colored jello bases and choosing various candies like gummy worms or other creepy candies!
Halloween Jello Shots Ideas:

Monster Eyeball Halloween Jello Shots
Gather your ingredients, summon your inner mad scientist, and whip up a batch of Monster Eyeball Jello Shots – it’s time to toast to All Hallows’ Eve!
Just a few Ingredients
Instructions:
- Set up the cups on a tray, then set them aside for later.
- In a large mixing bowl add 1 cup of boiling water and the gelatin powder.
- Whisk gelatin and water together until jello mixture is completely dissolved.
- Next add 1 cup of vodka (or cold water if making a non-alcoholic version). Whisk mixture until combined.
- Pour some of the decrative sugar onto a shallow dish.
- Dip the rims of the plastic cups in the gelatin mixture and then in the decorating sugars to coat the rims.
- Allow the sugar to set/harden for about 20 minutes.
- Spoon or ladle the gelatin mix into the cups.
- Place the cups on a tray and refrigerate them until they are partially set. Test them in 30 mins- 1 hour.
- Place the eyes down into the gelatin. Use a drinking straw or skewers to push them down inside the gelatin.
- Place some eyes on the top of the gelatin.
- Let the shots completely set for at least 3 hours or for best results let them set overnight. Enjoy!
Non Alcoholic Version
To make this recipe safe for kids and alcohol free, just replace the vodka with cold water! You can reduce the sugar too by only having a few eyeballs on top and leave out the rimming of the cups.

- 3 ounces grape flavored Jell-O Brand mix
- 1 cup boiling water

- 1 pkg candy eyeballs, various sizes
- decorating sanding sugar in dark purple
